Man Utd preparing £75m transfer: Manchester United to return for Premier League star in January
Manchester United could return for Lewis Hall during the January transfer window. The Newcastle left-back was one of the club’s main targets last summer, but a deal could not be agreed.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle valued the 21-year-old at £75 million. Hall ultimately remained at St James’ Park, while Manchester United are now facing serious competition for the left-back position.
Former Man Utd defender Wes Brown believes the club missed a great opportunity to sign the England international and should try to acquire him at the first opportunity. According to the former player, Hall could be an ideal fit for Michael Carrick’s team.
Luke Shaw remains the first-choice option on the left flank. However, the 31-year-old defender has repeatedly struggled with fitness issues in the past. His alternative is young Harry Amass, meaning Shaw’s workload will increase with Manchester United’s return to the Champions League.
Meanwhile, the club have completed the permanent transfer of 17-year-old striker Louis Bradbury to Stoke City. The forward has signed a two-year contract with an option to extend it for another season.
