Manchester United have taken the lead in their third-round Premier League clash with Everton. Cameroon winger Bryan Mbeumo put the Red Devils ahead in the 46th minute.
Mbeumo received the ball, cut inside towards the hosts’ penalty area and decided to try his luck from distance. His effort was perfect — the ball flew spectacularly into the Toffees’ net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance of saving his side. After scoring, the footballer celebrated with his trademark Floyd Mayweather-inspired celebration.
The goal was Mbeumo’s second in the Premier League this season. The Cameroon international continues to build up his form and helped Manchester United take the lead in a difficult away fixture.
Opta statistics also highlight just how significant Mbeumo’s strike was. It was already his 22nd shot against Everton in the Premier League, but only now has he finally managed to find the net against the Liverpool-based side.
As of the 65th minute, Manchester United are leading 1-0.
