Karim Benzema could continue his career in England. Despite the transfer window having closed, the 38-year-old Frenchman remains a free agent and could attract interest from Premier League clubs.

According to talkSPORT, English sides could make an offer for the Ballon d’Or winner. Journalist Ben Jacobs believes Benzema’s age could prove an obstacle to such a move, although interest from England should not be completely ruled out. Premier League clubs will also face competition from teams in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Benzema became a free agent after leaving Al-Hilal. His contract was terminated at the start of the week. The Frenchman made 16 appearances for the Saudi club and scored 10 goals, but the plan was to leave him out of the squad for the new season. Benzema previously played for Al-Ittihad.

Interestingly, Benzema has never played in England. Over the course of his career, he has made 895 club appearances and scored 484 goals, while he found the net 37 times in 97 appearances for France. In 2022, the striker won the Ballon d’Or.
