This could be a legendary coaching partnership.
Details: In an interview with the BBC, 40-year-old former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney expressed his interest in joining Manchester United's coaching staff, regardless of who takes charge of the team.

Rooney believes that right now, the head coach of the Red Devils should be someone who truly understands what it means to play for a club like Manchester United:
"Of course, I would agree. Without hesitation. I'm not begging for the job. But just so everyone knows, I would absolutely say yes if I'm asked. Appointing the head coach is the most important thing. Whoever it is—Michael, Fletch, John O'Shea—they'll need people who know the football club. Like me. Or Roy Keane, whom I suggested earlier this season. They'll need people who care about the club and understand what it means to be a Manchester United player. The club has lost its identity, lost that family feeling," Rooney said on the BBC podcast.
Wayne Rooney is a true Manchester United legend. He joined the club back in 2004 from Everton and spent 13 years in Manchester. He played 559 matches for United, scoring 253 goals and providing 142 assists.
In 2021, Rooney announced his retirement as a player and began his coaching career. He has already served as head coach at clubs such as Derby County, DC United, Plymouth, and Birmingham. At the moment, Rooney is currently out of work.
