Details: According to Fabrizio Romano on his X social media page, 44-year-old coach Michael Carrick has reached an agreement with the Manchester United board and will soon be appointed as the new head coach of the Red Devils.

It is reported that all contract details have already been settled, and Carrick will officially take up his new role later this week.

Previously, Michael Carrick already had experience coaching Manchester United, having served as interim head coach from November to December 2021.

Carrick's most recent position was with Middlesbrough, which he left in the summer of 2025.

Michael Carrick spent 12 years at Manchester United as a player, ending his playing career in 2018 and beginning his coaching journey from the bench.
