An intriguing incident occurred during the semi-final match of the Paranaense State Championship between Atletico Paranaense and Operario.
In the first half, renowned midfielder Fernandinho attempted to make a sharp pass to his teammate in the opposing half, but ended up hitting the referee, who had unfortunately chosen a poor position.
The experienced midfielder momentarily lunged at the referee with his fists but quickly regained composure.
Ultimately, Atletico Paranaense emerged victorious with a score of 1-0, having also won the first leg against their opponent 2-1. In the final, Atletico Paranaense will face Maringa Club.
Fernandinho is a legend of Manchester City. The 38-year-old midfielder played for this English club from 2013 to 2022, and he began his European career at Shakhtar Donetsk.
