The ATP 1000 tournament continues in the capital of Spain, Madrid, with the men competing in the Round of 32.

Today on the court, the seventh-ranked player in the world, Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece, faced Thiago Monteiro from Brazil, ranked 118th in the ATP rankings. The Greek athlete was considered the clear favorite, but things didn't go smoothly on the court.

In the first set, both players faced break points twice but didn't commit any double faults. Monteiro made nine winners and claimed all five games on his serve, besides winning one game on Tsitsipas's serve. The first set ended in favor of Monteiro with a score of 6-4.

In the second set, the Brazilian once again had the advantage and maintained a consistent lead, but Tsitsipas kept fighting back. At 5-3 in favor of Monteiro, the Greek player managed to claim one game, and although Monteiro had two match points, it was on the second one, at 40-40 in the tenth game, that he secured the victory. Both players had two double faults each, while Tsitsipas made one. Monteiro again won five games on his serve and one on Tsitsipas's serve.
