On the night of April 24th to 25th, Ecuadorian club Independiente Del Valle lost to Palmeiras (2-3) in a Copa Libertadores group stage match.
However, during the match, Independiente Del Valle led 2-0, and a goal plus an assist were credited to 16-year-old super talent Kendry Paez. The teenager opened the scoring with an incredible long-range strike and later delivered a superb cross from the right flank to Michael Oyos.
These productive actions were Paez' first in his Copa Libertadores career. He has already scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 39 games for his hometown club.
Despite his young age, Paez has played 6 matches and scored 1 goal for the Ecuadorian national team.
Just a reminder, in the summer of 2025, Paez will join Chelsea. The London club bought out his contract for 20 million euros, setting a record in Ecuadorian football history.
