The Copa America tournament in the United States continues. Today, two quarter-final matches took place, determining the final spots in the semi-finals.

The first match at State Farm Stadium in Glendale featured Colombia and Panama. The Colombians, considered clear favorites, demonstrated their dominance on the field by defeating their opponents soundly.

In the eighth minute, John Córdoba opened the scoring from a corner kick. Shortly after, John Arias earned a penalty, which James Rodríguez successfully converted. Before the end of the first half, Liverpool forward Luis Díaz extended the lead with an impressive performance.

Despite Panama's attempts to rally in the second half, Colombia netted two more goals. Richard Ríos scored with a precise shot from outside the box, and in stoppage time, Miguel Borja converted another penalty, sealing the final score.

Immediately following this match, the final quarter-final clash between Uruguay and Brazil commenced at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise.

Many viewed this encounter as worthy of a final, and it lived up to the expectations. The match was evenly contested, with both teams taking nine shots on goal in the first half, three of which were on target. Uruguay came closest to scoring, but Darwin Núñez missed the target, and Brazil's Raphinha failed to beat the goalkeeper.

In the second half, Uruguay was reduced to ten men when Nahitan Nández was sent off for a foul on Rodrygo. However, Brazil could not capitalize on their numerical advantage, and the match went to a penalty shootout, as extra time is not played due to the heat in Copa America.

Uruguay's Federico Valverde of Real Madrid scored first, while his club teammate Éder Militão missed for Brazil. Both teams then scored three consecutive penalties before Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz hit the post. Although Atlético Madrid defender José María Giménez also missed, Uruguay ultimately triumphed in the shootout to advance to the semi-finals.
