UEFA is on the verge of another revolutionary change in the Champions League.
Details: As reported by The Guardian, UEFA is considering the option of abolishing extra time in the Champions League playoffs.
This innovation is being proposed due to pressure on UEFA regarding an overly congested match schedule.
If this decision is ultimately approved, in the event of a draw over two legs, teams will immediately proceed to a penalty shootout. The same rule would apply to the Europa League and the Conference League.
However, UEFA does not plan to remove extra time in the final match.
Reminder: In the next Champions League, up to seven teams from England could participate.
