Tunisia has one of the worst records in African football in World Cup history
12 goals conceded in the group stage
The Eagles of Carthage have conceded the second-highest number of goals in a single World Cup tournament.
Tunisia’s campaign at the 2026 World Cup has been chaotic. The Eagles of Carthage failed to win a single match in Group F. On the contrary, they were soundly beaten by their opponents. Tunisia were thrashed 5–1 by Sweden, trounced 4–0 by Japan, and then beaten 3–1 by the Netherlands.
Tunisia conceded 12 goals in the group stage, the second-highest total ever recorded by an African nation in a single World Cup tournament. Only the DR Congo, on their debut in 1974, fared worse, conceding 14 goals. Cameroon also conceded 11 goals at the 1994 World Cup.
