The Argentine isn’t wasting any time and has already mapped out his next career move.

Details: Today it was confirmed that 39-year-old former Monaco, Manchester United, and Argentina national team goalkeeper Sergio Romero has officially announced his retirement from professional football.

Romero made it clear he’s not stepping away from football entirely and is eager to take on a managerial role. He isn’t aiming to become a goalkeeping coach—Romero is determined to be a full-fledged head coach and has already assembled his own backroom staff.

Throughout his professional career, Romero played for clubs including AZ Alkmaar, Sampdoria, Monaco, Manchester United, Venezia, Boca Juniors, as well as Argentinos Juniors.

He also earned 96 caps for the Argentina national team.
