The evening of February 8 turned tense for Moroccan football club Raja Casablanca. After a 0-1 away defeat to COD Meknes in the Botola, the situation surrounding one of the nation's most decorated clubs escalated sharply.
Immediately after the final whistle, a group of Raja supporters clashed with their own players. Emotions spiraled out of control, and the tension erupted into a heated altercation as various objects, including bottles, were hurled from the stands at the squad.
From a tournament perspective, the loss was also painful. After 10 matches played, Raja Casablanca remain in third place on the table, missing a chance to close the gap with the league leaders.
It's worth recalling that Raja is one of Morocco's most successful clubs: the team has claimed the national championship 13 times, though last season they only finished fifth. This campaign has been inconsistent, and the pressure from the stands on the players and coaching staff continues to mount.
