Ziyech officially becomes a free agent. Wydad announce departure of former Chelsea star

Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca have announced the end of their partnership with 33-year-old winger Hakim Ziyech. The footballer spent just one season at the club after joining in the summer of 2025.

«Perhaps this period did not last as long as we had hoped, but seeing you in a Wydad shirt will forever remain a special moment for the club and its supporters. Your presence here will occupy a unique place in our history,» the club said in a farewell message.

Ziyech is one of the most famous Moroccan footballers of recent years. During his career, he has played for Ajax Amsterdam, Chelsea and Turkish club Galatasaray before moving to Wydad Casablanca.

Last season, Ziyech made 16 appearances in all competitions and scored nine goals. Despite his relatively short spell at the club, the 33-year-old managed to make a significant contribution to the team's results.

Now the two parties have ended their partnership, and Ziyech will have to decide on the next step in his career.
