The decision by the US administration regarding the 2026 World Cup has sent shockwaves through the football world. Players from Iran and Haiti may be forced to compete in the tournament without the support of their fans.
Politico confirms that the entry ban for citizens of 19 countries, signed in June, remains in force. Among those affected are Iran and Haiti, whose supporters now risk missing out on the tournament entirely.
Citizens of these countries are unlikely to obtain visas. Exceptions will be made only for players, their families, coaching staff, and team personnel.
Earlier reports indicated that, due to such restrictions, Iran will not attend the 2026 World Cup group stage draw.
