Manchester City prepares to change goalkeeper. Guardiola's new favorite is already known

Manchester City is ready to part ways with Ederson and is considering a return to the Portuguese market—eight years after the Brazilian's transfer from Benfica. According to Mirror, the main candidate to replace Ederson is Porto and Portugal national team goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
The 25-year-old Costa fits perfectly into Pep Guardiola's playing model thanks to his ability to initiate attacks and excellent ball-handling skills. These qualities have long been Ederson's trademark, but the Brazilian has suffered another groin injury, which could prematurely end his season.
Despite his injuries, the Brazilian goalkeeper remains the Premier League's record-holder for assists among goalkeepers—he provided his fourth assist of the season in the penultimate round.
Costa's contract with Porto includes a release clause of 63 million pounds, but Manchester City hopes to negotiate a fee of around 50 million. An additional advantage could be the fact that City's future sporting director Hugo Viana maintains a good relationship with the player's agent Jorge Mendes.
Costa has been nurtured within Porto's system since the age of 11, has become a two-time Portuguese champion, and in recent years has solidified his status as the number one for the national team.
