A fair court delivered a just verdict, punishing the fraudster who tried to deceitfully extort a large sum of money from Son Heung-min.

Details: According to BBC Sport, a 20-year-old South Korean woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for false accusations and blackmailing the 33-year-old Los Angeles and South Korea national team winger Son Heung-min.

The fraudster, together with her accomplice, attempted to extort $200,000 from Son, claiming she was pregnant by the footballer and threatening to go public unless he paid up. Out of fear for his reputation, Son Heung-min felt compelled to pay the demanded sum.

However, today a South Korean court ruled that the woman blatantly lied and was not pregnant by Son. Her actions were recognized as gross violations of the law. The money she received was spent on jewelry and luxury items, which ultimately exposed her deception.

The woman's accomplice received a two-year prison sentence for confirmed threats against Son.

In August, the 33-year-old left Tottenham after 10 years of service to join Los Angeles for €22 million, marking the most expensive transfer in MLS history.

So far, Son has played 13 matches for the American club, scoring 12 goals and providing one assist.
