FIFA President Gianni Infantino has addressed the growing discontent over ticket prices for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
Details: He emphasized that the prices reflect the realities of the American market, where the entertainment industry is the strongest in the world. According to the FIFA chief, in the United States, it's impossible to attend even a college game for less than $300, so for a tournament of the World Cup's magnitude, such market rates are entirely justified.
Infantino also touched on the issue of ticket resales, which are officially permitted in the United States. He explained that setting prices too low would only encourage scalpers to resell tickets at a much higher price.
The FIFA President urged fans not to focus on the sky-high figures seen on the secondary market: if someone lists a ticket for the final at $2 million, that doesn't mean it's the real price.
Reminder: Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has stated that Rodri could miss the World Cup.
