Gakpo goal and Malen brace secured the Netherlands a spot in the quarterfinals of UEFA Euro 2024

Netherlands and Romania met in the Round of 16 of the Euro 2024 Championship.

The Netherlands, entering the match as clear favorites, started playing aggressively right from the beginning.

The first half was dominated by the 'Oranje', who looked confident on the field. Their persistent attacks paid off in the 20th minute.

After a pass from Simons, Gakpo shifted and took a shot at the opponent's goal. Despite the ball heading towards the near post, Nicuşor failed to deal with it. The teams went into halftime with the clear advantage to the favorites.

Towards the end of the match, relentless Gakpo added an assist to his goal. Cody beat Drăgușin in a battle in the penalty area and passed to Malen, who didn't miss.

And in the compensated time Malen made a double, setting the final score. - 3:0.

The 'Tulips' confidently secured the victory and deservedly advanced to the quarterfinals. In the next stage, the Netherlands will play against the winner of the match between Austria and Turkey, which will be played later today.
