French club Lyon continues its very active transfer campaign this summer.

Today, Lyon officially announced the signing of central defender Moussa Niakhaté from Nottingham Forest. The transfer fee was £27 million, and the 28-year-old Senegalese player signed a four-year contract.

This is already the second player to switch from Nottingham Forest to Lyon this summer. Previously, "Les Gones" acquired the contract of Belgian international midfielder Orel Mangala.

Niakhaté has previously played in Ligue 1 for Metz and also played in France for Valenciennes. Before joining Nottingham Forest, he spent four seasons at Mainz. In the past season, he made 24 appearances in the English Premier League.

Lyon had a poor start to the previous season, but eventually finished sixth and secured a spot in the Europa League.
