The VAR system decided to take center stage in the Champions League final, committing a glaring error during a pivotal moment of the match.
Details: According to refereeing experts from Archivo VAR, who thoroughly analyzed the moment of Arsenal's early goal and delivered a clear-cut verdict—the goal against PSG was scored in violation of the rules.
During the review, specialists reconstructed the incident minute by minute: Belgian winger Leandro Trossard of the London side deliberately extended his arm right into the path of PSG defender Marquinhos’s clearance. The ball ricocheted off Trossard’s hand and landed at the feet of Kai Havertz, who slotted it into the net.
The experts are adamant: this was a clear handball, which the officiating crew was obliged to call. The key element in this episode is the movement dynamic of the Arsenal player. His arm was purposefully moving toward the ball, blocking its trajectory. That’s why this contact cannot be classified as accidental or natural in any way.
Despite the deliberate nature of the handball in the attacking phase, the VAR officials ignored the blatant replay and failed to advise the main referee to disallow the goal.
Reminder: Information has emerged regarding the fitness of PSG’s star and whether he made the starting lineup.
