PSG’s Champions League final triumph unleashed a wild and destructive night for the French capital.
Details: The long-awaited trophy celebration by local fans descended into chaos in the “finest” tradition of Parisian radical ultras—with large-scale riots, arson, and fierce clashes with law enforcement.
Throughout the night, PSG fans set fire to anything they could reach—from garbage bins and street infrastructure to cars. Social media footage showed the scale of the rampage engulfing the city, and the police struggled to contain the chaos.
In their attempts to quell the raging crowd, Parisian law enforcement deployed special measures—tear gas and water cannons. Police carried out large-scale sweeps, detaining hundreds, but their efforts had little visible effect. As soon as officers dispersed the radicals in one area, spontaneous and aggressive “celebrations” would erupt elsewhere across Paris.
It’s worth noting that the match ended with a PSG triumph in a penalty shootout.
Reminder: PSG midfielder Vitinha was named the best player of the Champions League final.
