Leo gave a candid answer, admitting he was deeply affected after Sergio Kun Agüero stepped away from football:
"With the Argentina national team, I started out sharing a room with Saviola. We were very similar, so it was easy to get along. Later, I began rooming with Kun Agüero. I knew Kun very well. It was easy to talk to him every day, and I spent my entire international career with him. When he retired, there was a void, and no one else could fill it. I was left alone," Messi confessed.
Messi began his Argentina national team career in 2005, with Agüero joining a year later. Messi and Agüero were key figures for Argentina at the 2008 Olympics, where they clinched the gold medal. The duo also managed to secure the much-coveted Copa Libertadores for Argentina in the 2020/21 season.
