"We know we have a strong squad": Al Hilal CEO addresses Ronaldo signing rumors

At the end of May, Cristiano Ronaldo set the media abuzz with hints about leaving Al-Nassr. The Portuguese superstar was linked with several clubs, and Al Hilal, given their participation in the Club World Cup, was almost considered a sure destination. However, the transfer never materialized, and the club's CEO, Esteve Calzada, has now revealed why.
Details: Calzada directly labeled the reports about Ronaldo’s transfer as rumors, adding that rumors are not something to be taken seriously or officially addressed.
Quote: "It's very difficult for us to get involved in discussions about rumors, because now, every time a player's contract expires, whether he renews or tries to leave—our name gets thrown into the conversation, whether it's Saudi football in general or Al Hilal in particular.
That's why we generally prefer not to comment on rumors at all. Of course, sometimes they turn out to be true, but I think, out of respect for everyone, it's better to simply refrain from commenting. We know we have a very strong squad. We have a clear strategy for how we can strengthen it in the future. And right now, it's not something that deserves serious discussion," Calzada told Sky Sports.
