Torino win the race! Granata agree deal for Fiorentina's talented fullback
Torino have secured one of the most promising Italian fullbacks of the new generation.
Details: According to Fabrizio Romano, Torino have agreed a deal to sign Niccolò Fortini from Fiorentina as their new fullback. The agreement was reached today after a new round of talks, despite interest from the Premier League. The 20-year-old joins on an initial loan with a buy clause, with Fiorentina giving the green light.
The Granata had been chasing the Italy international for weeks: their first proposal worth around €5 million did not convince the Viola, but with the player's contract expiring in the summer of 2027, Fiorentina were forced to make a decision. Napoli and newly promoted Premier League side Hull City were also in the mix, yet Torino's persistence paid off. The Florence club, who signed Jiménez, Valdepeñas and João Mário this summer, needed to trim their crowded fullback department.
Fortini, born in 2006, is a product of Fiorentina's academy and returned to Florence last summer after an impressive loan at Juve Stabia, where he scored twice in 27 league appearances. Last season he made 26 appearances for the Viola across all competitions and earned his first senior Italy cap in June 2026. It's worth noting that Torino needed reinforcements on the flank following the departure of Valentino Lazaro as a free agent.
Reminder: Generous offer! Como ready to splash the cash for Fiorentina's attacking leader.
