Assane Diao scores his first ever Champions League goal

The Senegalese striker found the back of the net on Thursday 10 September during the first matchday of the UEFA Champions League 2026-2027 league phase.

Assane Diao scored his first Champions League goal on Thursday evening with Como against RB Leipzig at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium. With his team already leading 2–0 at home, the Senegalese player added to the tally in the 54th minute to make it 3–0.

This is Assane Diao’s very first Champions League goal and his third goal of the season for Como, across all competitions. With this latest strike, Assane Diao has confirmed his fine form at the start of the season. The Senegalese player is thus continuing to make his mark in a Como shirt and is establishing himself as one of the Italian club’s rising stars in attack.
