Champions League wrap: Bayern and Como run riot, Lens edge Prague thriller, United cruise

The first Champions League evening of the season delivered everything: routs in Munich, Como and Manchester, a late drama in Prague, and two emotional returns ending in draws.

The headline act belonged to Harry Kane, who scored early in Bayern's 5-0 demolition of Bodo/Glimt to make it eight consecutive Champions League games with a goal, taking his career tally in the competition to 55. The night's fairy tale came from Como: in the first Champions League match in club history, Cesc Fabregas's side tore RB Leipzig apart 4-1, with Martin Baturina opening the scoring on 15 minutes and Anastasios Douvikas adding a second before the break. Manchester United marked their return after two years away with a routine 4-0 win over Azerbaijani debutants Sabah at Old Trafford. In Prague, Lens survived a late onslaught to win 2-3 at Slavia in a match that went to the 97th minute, Florian Thauvin's men making a statement after a shaky Ligue 1 start. Earlier, Sergino Dest's equalizer rescued PSV in a 1-1 draw with Shakhtar, while Fenerbahce and Roma, back after 18 and seven years away respectively, shared a 1-1 draw in Istanbul.

It's worth noting that Como's 4-1 win is one of the biggest ever victories by a club playing its very first match in the Champions League.
