On Thursday, December 28, the traditional annual exhibition race Biathlon World Team Challenge, also known as the Christmas race, will take place in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

As you know, according to the regulations, the biathletes will first run a mass start, after which the chase start list will be formed, which will determine the winners of the race. Ten teams will take part in the competition. The mass start will begin at 18:15, and the pursuit will start at 19:05 CET.

The start list for the 2023 Christmas race is as follows

  • Germany 1: Janina Gettich-Waltz, Roman Rees
  • Germany 2: Anna Kebinger, Benedikt Doll
  • Norway: Ingrid Tandrevold, Sturla Legreid
  • France: Julie Simon, Fabienne Claude
  • Austria: Lisa Therese Hauser, Felix Leitner
  • Czech Republic: Marketa Davidová, Michal Krchmarz
  • Belgium: Lotte Lieu, Florent Claude
  • Slovenia: Polona Klemenčič, Jakov Fak
  • Ukraine: Yulia Dzhima, Dmytro Pidruchnyi
  • Switzerland: Amy Baserga, Sebastian Stalder

The French Julie Simon and Fabienne Claude, who won gold in 2022, will defend their titles. Lisa Therese Hauser and Felix Leitner from Austria will also try to win the competition for the second time - they won in 2021.
