Inter and Roma could face punishment. What is the reason?
Italian football is on the verge of another scandal, this time involving financial matters once again. Several top clubs in the country have come under scrutiny by the financial police.
Italy's financial police are investigating 12 transfer deals involving Inter and Roma, as these clubs are suspected of illegal capital gains. This information comes from Football Italia, citing Tuttosport.
According to the source, besides Inter and Roma, transfers involving Sassuolo, Atalanta, and Napoli are also under investigation. The Rome prosecutor's office has already sent relevant documents to colleagues in other cities.
The focus of the investigation is on violations related to false corporate reports on transfers involving Roma. Special attention is being paid to deals made between 2017 and 2021, such as Radja Nainggolan's move from Roma to Sassuolo and the transfer of Davide Frattesi, who also moved from the Roman club to Sassuolo.
