The Newcastle head coach forced the defender to go on loan. What happened?

Recently, transfer windows closed in many countries, and details of some player moves are emerging. Newcastle defender Jamal Lewis revealed that he was forced to leave the club following words from the head coach.
Details: Newcastle made significant moves in the transfer market, signing players like Lewis Hall from Chelsea, Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth, and several others. They also parted ways with players such as Elliot Anderson, Yankuba Minteh, and others.
The latest departure was Jamal Lewis, who joined Brazilian club São Paulo on loan, becoming the first Briton in the club's history.
It has now come to light that his exit was prompted by Newcastle manager Eddie Howe. After spending last season on loan at Watford, Lewis returned only to learn from Howe that he wouldn’t get any playing time.
Quote: "I spoke with the coach [Eddie Howe]. This is my last year [under contract], and I took the loan for the season, so it’s kind of a sign.
But if São Paulo could become my long-term home in the future, that would be amazing.
This [transfer] happened on the night our transfer window closed.
My agent told me São Paulo might be interested and that everything could move very quickly.
I said I was 100% interested, and it happened at 100 miles per hour. I’m really happy to be a São Paulo player," Lewis told Daily Mirror.
Reminder: One of Newcastle's main transfer targets during the offseason was Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi. Though the move didn’t materialize, the club’s management stated they weren’t disappointed as they successfully strengthened the squad with other signings.
