Inter Milan forward Marko Arnautovic scored his first goal in the UEFA Champions League since 2010, as reported by Opta.

The Austrian player had not scored in 4,740 days. Arnautovic scored his first goal in December 2010 for Werder Bremen, marking his debut in the Champions League. In the match against Benfica, Marko scored his second goal. Thus, it represents the longest gap between two goals for a player in the history of the competition.

Arnautovic joined Werder Bremen on June 4, 2010, signing a four-year contract. He played 72 matches in the national championship for the Bremen club. From 2017 to 2019, he played for West Ham United, participating in 59 matches in the English Premier League and scoring 21 goals.

In the summer of 2021, he returned to Europe, signing a two-year deal with the Italian club Bologna on August 1, which was later extended. In August 2023, for the second time in his career, he joined Inter Milan on a one-year loan.

It's worth noting that Benfica and Inter put on a goal-scoring spectacle and played to a 3-3 draw. In the first half, Benfica demonstrated excellent play, especially midfielder Joao Mario, who scored a hat-trick. Arnautovic and Frattesi scored goals in the 51st and 58th minutes, helping Inter quickly turn the tide of the match. In the 72nd minute, the Italian team earned a penalty, and Alexis Sanchez confidently converted the penalty kick.
