End of an era! Inter Milan set to part ways with sporting director Piero Ausilio
A monumental chapter in the modern history of Inter Milan is drawing to an emotional close.
Details: According to renowned Italian insider Nicolò Schira, Inter Milan will not renew the contract of sporting director Piero Ausilio when his current agreement expires in June. After 28 remarkable years working within the club's structure, Ausilio's lengthy and decorated journey with the Nerazzurri is coming to an end.
Ausilio first joined Inter back in 1998, working through the youth academy ranks and scouting departments before eventually being promoted to sporting director in 2014.
During his nearly three decades at San Siro, the 54-year-old executive played an instrumental role in orchestrating key transfer windows, rebuilding squads, and securing multiple Serie A titles and domestic trophies.
It is worth noting that under the management of Oaktree Capital, Inter is preparing a broader organizational restructuring of their sporting management heading into the 2027 campaign.
