Three players return to training. Mourinho receives a boost ahead of Champions League opener
Real Madrid held their penultimate training session ahead of their opening Champions League match against Inter. Following a day off after their defeat by Real Betis at La Cartuja, José Mourinho's side resumed work at their Valdebebas training ground.
The main news was the return of three players. Aurélien Tchouaméni, Endrick and Thiago Pitarch trained with their team-mates after recovering from injuries and are once again available to the coaching staff.
However, the situation is different for each player. Tchouaméni, who only recently returned to fitness, will find it difficult to challenge for a starting place against Inter. Endrick and Thiago Pitarch have better chances. The Brazilian has been sidelined for around a month with muscular fatigue and has yet to make an appearance this season, meaning the meeting with the Italian club could be his debut.
Thiago Pitarch is also still working his way back to full fitness. The midfielder suffered an injury after returning from the UEFA European Under-19 Championship, which he won with Spain, and missed around two months because of the setback.
