The Guinean Football Federation denies having taken any action with the CAS regarding the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations
The governing body of Guinean football states that it has not initiated any proceedings either with the Court of Arbitration for Sport or with the Confederation of African Football.
Reports circulating on social media recently suggested that Guinea had taken steps to contest the result of the match against Morocco during the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations. However, in a statement issued on Sunday 22 March 2026, the Guinean Football Federation described these allegations as inaccurate and devoid of any official basis.
The Guinean Football Federation (FGF) wishes to inform the national and international public that it has not initiated any proceedings either with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) or with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in relation to the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations. In recent days, reports circulating across various platforms, notably social media, have wrongly suggested that Guinea is seeking to challenge the result of the match between the Syli National and Morocco during that competition. The Guinean Football Federation wishes to clarify, in a spirit of responsibility and calm, that these reports are inaccurate and have no official basis.
