During its last two seasons, the Egyptian club Zamalek turned into hospital for its injured players after four players suffered cruciate ligament injuries in just two seasons.

Zamalek announced a short while ago that its tunisian player Hamza Mathlouthi suffered a rupture in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee during the match against Modern Sport fc in the Egyptian league, which ended with the Whites losing by one goal to 0.

According to the decision of the White Castle management, the Tunisian international will undergo surgery outside Egypt, as the club's decision comes to provide all facilities for his treatment and travel as soon as possible.

So, Mathlouthi joins the list of Zamalek players injured with cruciate ligament injuries, after Mahmoud Hamdy El Wensh, Mohamed Abdel Shafy, and Ahmed Hamdi.

The first cruciate ligament injury dates back to February 2023, when El Wensh was injured, who underwent surgery in Germany and was absent from the stadiums for an entire season.

During the same month, Mohamed Abdel Shafy was injured during training, and in May 2024, player Ahmed Hamdi suffered the same injury in the second leg of the African Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane, and underwent surgery in Germany and is currently continuing his rehabilitation program.
