With Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival at Manchester United, the club received a significant cash injection, but so far, it hasn’t been enough to turn around the Red Devils’ financial fortunes.
Details: According to research by The Athletic, despite an infusion of nearly £240 million over the past year, Manchester United’s financial reserves dropped by £22.5 million in the third quarter, now standing at £73.2 million.
That’s an improvement over the same reporting period last year, when reserves stood at £67 million, but it’s important to note that the current £73.2 million figure comes on the back of Ratcliffe’s investments.
The club still has the option to borrow up to another £90 million for transfers or other needs, but doing so would push the club’s total debt to £713.2 million.
Reminder: During the summer transfer window, Manchester United have already completed the signing of Matheus Cunha, while a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is also brewing at Old Trafford.
