Shearer names three forwards who could break his Premier League goal record

Legendary English forward Alan Shearer continues to hold the record for the most goals in Premier League history. Throughout his career from 1992 to 2006, Shearer scored 260 goals in 441 matches.
The closest to this mark is Harry Kane, who currently has 213 goals to his name. Third on the list of the tournament's top scorers is Wayne Rooney: the Everton and Man United legend scored 208 goals in his career.
So far, these are the only three players who have reached the 200+ goal mark in the EPL.
Shearer believes that Harry Kane remains one of the main contenders to surpass his record. However, for this, the forward needs to return to the EPL from Bayern Munich.
"I would name three contenders. If Harry Kane returned to the Premier League, he would undoubtedly have a chance," Shearer said in a comment to Setanta Sports. "If Mo Salah stays at Liverpool, then he also has a shot. In his prime form, he is capable of breaking the record. Erling Haaland recently signed a new contract with Man City.
One day the record will be broken, I'm sure of it. I'm not saying that I want it to happen, but I know it will. Obviously, I want to keep it for as long as possible.
But I've been out of the game for so long, and it has to happen eventually. I'll be the first to shake the hand of the person who breaks my record. Of course, if I can still do that at the time."
It's worth noting that Mohamed Salah currently has 184 EPL goals, while Erling Haaland has 84.
