WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers: the fixtures for Matchday 2 in Group B

EDO Queens of Nigeria will face ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast, whilst Ampem Darkoa of Ghana will take on AS GNN of Niger.

The WAFU B qualifying tournament for the CAF Women’s Champions League continues in Burkina Faso. Following matchday 1, Group B enters its matchday 2 on Thursday 27 August. Both matches will be played at the Stade du 4 Août in Ouagadougou.

EDO Queens will take on ASEC Mimosas at 3 pm GMT. This clash promises to be a thrilling one for both teams, who are dreaming of a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League. However, EDO Queens and ASEC Mimosas did not get off to the same start in the tournament. The Nigerian side made a thunderous debut by thrashing the Nigerien team AS GNN 7–0.

For their part, the Ivorian side lost 1-0 to Ampem Darkoa. The match on 27 August is therefore of major importance for both teams, with one looking to build on their success and the other aiming to get back on track.

The second Group B fixture will see Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa take on AS GNN from Niger. This match is scheduled for 6 pm GMT, also at the Stade du 4 Août.

The Ghanian side go into this match full of confidence following their victory over ASEC Mimosas on the first matchday. By contrast, the Nigerien side are looking to bounce back after their heavy defeat against EDO Queens in their Group B opener.
