Liam Delap is starting a new chapter after just one season at Stamford Bridge.

Details: Chelsea have officially confirmed that the 23-year-old striker has completed a permanent transfer to Nottingham Forest. The clubs have not publicly disclosed the financial terms, but British media report that Forest will pay a club-record £45 million upfront, with another £5 million available in add-ons. That is approximately €52.5 million plus around €6 million in bonuses.

Delap joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2025, but his spell in London lasted only one campaign. According to Chelsea's official figures, the English forward made 41 appearances for the club across four competitions last season and scored twice.

Nottingham Forest had already shown interest in the striker before his move to Stamford Bridge and have now finally secured their target. The reported £50 million package makes Delap the most expensive signing in Forest's history.

It is worth noting that Transfermarkt currently estimates Delap's market value at €28 million. The 23-year-old centre-forward had been under contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2031 before completing his move to Nottingham.
