The memory of Diogo Jota will live on forever.
Details: Today, ahead of the FA Cup Round of 16 clash between Wolverhampton and Liverpool, the home team once again paid tribute to and honored the late Diogo Jota, a former Wolves and Reds star who tragically lost his life in a car accident.
Before kick-off, Wolverhampton’s club museum unveiled memorial portraits of Diogo Jota, created with ink made from the petals of flowers that fans had left at the stadium in his memory.
During the match itself, fans displayed stunning banners featuring Jota and gave a rousing round of applause in his honor.
Diogo Jota played for Wolverhampton from 2018 to 2020, before moving to Liverpool for €44.7 million.
Diogo Jota died on July 3, 2025, in Spain as a result of a car accident. His brother, Andre Silva, also lost his life in the tragedy.
