Pedro Troglio has parted ways with Instituto following the team’s dramatic 3-2 loss to Atlético Tucumán on Monday night. The defeat marked another setback in a disappointing Apertura campaign, with the team collecting just 11 points from 12 matches. The club confirmed the coach’s departure via social media, as reported by Olé.
Troglio was in charge for 13 matches — 12 in the league and one in the Copa Argentina — winning four, drawing two, and losing seven. Despite securing advancement in the domestic cup, results in the league have fallen short of expectations. Assistant coaches Daniel Jiménez and Bruno Martelotto will take over on an interim basis while the board searches for a permanent replacement.
In its official statement, Instituto thanked Troglio for his professionalism, dedication, and commitment throughout his time at the club. His departure adds to the growing list of managerial exits in the Apertura, with 11 coaches already dismissed in just 12 rounds — highlighting the competitive and volatile nature of this season.
Sitting far from the top positions, Instituto now aims to realign its trajectory and regain stability before the end of the first half of the campaign.
