Official: South African giants complete high-profile signing of Bafana Bafana star
South African club Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the signing of national team winger Elias Mokwana.
Details: According to the Amakhosi’s official media channels, the 27-year-old wide forward has joined the Soweto-based outfit on a free transfer. The winger became a free agent after terminating his contract with Tunisian side Espérance prematurely, turning down several attractive offers from foreign clubs in favour of a return to his homeland.
Kaizer Chiefs’ coaching staff are convinced that Mokwana’s creativity, high pressing and finishing ability will immediately add more attacking options to the team’s frontline in the South African Premier Soccer League. The player has already successfully completed his medical examination and begun training with his new teammates.
It is worth noting that last season Elias Mokwana spent time on loan in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hazem, where he scored four goals in the competition, while also remaining a regular presence in the Bafana Bafana senior national team setup.
