Obameyang is interested in France

As negotiations on a new contract with Alexis Sanchez have reached an impasse, Marseille have become interested in Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

After strengthening the squad with the arrival of Joffrey Kondogbia and defender Renan Lodi, Marseille are now focusing on strengthening their attack.

The club's coaching staff believe that 34-year-old Aubameyang could be an alternative to Sanchez, who became a free agent after his contract with the club ended and did not want to renew his agreement.

Aubameyang's contract with Chelsea runs until 2024. The player has experience of playing in Ligue 1, where he represented Saint-Etienne from 2011 to 2013.

However, the deal is a complicated one for Marseille as they are yet to receive the consent of the player, who earns over €180k per week in England.

Last season in the English Premier League, Aubameyang played in 15 matches in which he scored one goal.
