Lewandowski Admires Lamine Jamal: At 17, He Plays Like a 25-Year-Old
Robert Lewandowski has expressed his admiration for his Barcelona teammate Lamine Jamal, who at 17 has impressed at both club and international level.
In an interview with ESPN, Lewandowski said that Jamal can definitely compete for the Ballon d'Or, the award given to the best footballer in the world.
"He can definitely do it. I'm not someone who often praises players, because sometimes when I spoke highly of some, they did not live up to expectations. Sometimes it's better to be careful in your assessments. But it's hard not to talk about Lamine in a good way. I'm sure he will be among the best players in the world, and he has a great future," Robert said.
Lewandowski also stressed that Yamal's maturity on the pitch deserves special attention:
"He's only 17 years old, but he plays like a 25-year-old. His mentality, including his approach to football, is impressive," the striker noted.

At the same time, Lewandowski stressed the importance of the right environment for Yamal, so that he does not become a victim of quick success:
"I think it's important now that the people around him help him not to grow too quickly. I'm not talking about his play on the pitch, but about what's going on around him. Talent helps at the start of a career, but later it's the mentality that allows you not just to reach the top, but to stay there."
"I hope that the people around him can support him. Football can be cruel at times, and you need to be prepared for that. I'm sure that the path he chooses is the best for him," Lewandowski concluded.
