Back then, players from both teams stopped the match for 10 seconds as a sign of protest against La Liga’s initiative.
Previously, La Liga president Javier Tebas had already warned that he would not let this slide, and today it has become known that legal action is underway against the players.
The appeal report states that La Liga suffered losses of eight million euros due to this boycott.
The Spanish Footballers Association has already declared that the players’ gesture was an act of free speech in response to the league’s refusal to negotiate on a proposal that affected their working conditions. The association also claims that this boycott in no way affected either the matches themselves or the league as a whole.
