On Monday, September 16, the court case against Manchester City for violations of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules begins.
Details: During a press conference ahead of Manchester City's Premier League match against Brentford, Pep Guardiola shared his thoughts on the upcoming trial.
Quote: "Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. We'll see. I'm not a lawyer. In this country, and in Spain, there are many lawyers. I'm glad it's starting on Monday. I know what people are waiting for, what they expect," the City manager stated.
Reminder: Manchester City's financial situation has been one of the most discussed topics in English football. The club faces accusations of 115 FFP violations.
Should the accusations be proven, the club could lose some Premier League titles and, in the worst-case scenario, face relegation to the Championship.
Last season, Everton and Nottingham Forest were penalized by the Premier League for FFP violations, resulting in point deductions.
However, while Everton and Nottingham Forest admitted their wrongdoing, Manchester City continues to deny all allegations.
