Here we go! Real Sociedad agree loan deal for Chelsea's Senegalese defender
The Basque club is on the verge of finalizing a deal to bolster its defensive line.
Details: According to insiders Santi Aouna and Bruno Andrade, Real Sociedad has reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea for the loan of 20-year-old center-back Mamadou Sarr. The deal is set for one season and does not include a purchase option.
The clubs plan to complete all necessary paperwork immediately after today's match. Meanwhile, the Senegalese defender will not feature on the pitch, as the Spanish side is already awaiting his arrival for a medical and to finalize the transfer.
It's worth noting that Sarr joined Chelsea in the summer of 2025 from Strasbourg, signing a contract until June 2033. In the first half of the 2025/26 season, he played for Strasbourg on loan, making 18 appearances in all competitions, before returning to the Blues in February 2026 and featuring in 6 matches for the London club. The reputable portal Transfermarkt currently values the player's transfer fee at €22 million.
