Since joining Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton has found himself in a country that perfectly matches his culinary preferences. According to Bild, the British Formula 1 star has long been a fan of Italian cuisine—particularly pizza.
Hamilton shared insights into his eating habits when asked about his diet. He revealed that his love for Italian food dates back to his first trip to Italy at the age of 13, when his mother and his first mechanic, Luca del Fante, made him an unforgettable lasagna.
“Oh my God. I’ve eaten so much pizza in the last few weeks. But, strangely enough, I’ve lost weight. Just last week, I had three pizzas. I love Italian cuisine. Penne all’arrabbiata is still my absolute favorite dish,” Hamilton admitted.
However, the seven-time world champion is also aware that metabolism slows down with age. While enjoying his time in Italy, he acknowledges that he’ll need to watch his diet to avoid overindulging. Otherwise, as Hamilton jokingly put it, he might struggle to fit into his race car.
