Aston Villa's defense has handed Lamine Yamal a gift that the Barcelona wonderkid simply couldn't refuse.

Details: An incredible defensive blunder occurred just seven minutes into the Champions League clash between Barcelona and Aston Villa at Spotify Camp Nou. One of the English club's defenders made a costly mistake, effectively gifting the ball to Lamine Yamal. The Spanish winger wasted no time in taking advantage of the opportunity, finding the back of the net and opening the scoring for the Catalan giants. Aston Villa found themselves trailing 1-0 almost immediately after kickoff.

The incident was particularly painful for Unai Emery's side, who arrived in Barcelona with a perfect record in this season's Champions League. Aston Villa had won all three of their previous league-phase matches, collecting nine points and establishing themselves among the competition's early leaders.

Barcelona, meanwhile, entered the fourth round with six points and were looking to recover from their 4-2 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the previous Champions League match. Yamal had also scored in that encounter, although his effort wasn't enough to prevent the Catalans from losing.

It's worth noting that Yamal has been in excellent scoring form recently. On November 1, the Spanish winger scored twice in Barcelona's emphatic 6-1 victory over Alavés in La Liga. That result also marked head coach Hansi Flick's 100th victory in charge of the Catalan club.

Reminder: The greatest in Barcelona history? Hansi Flick sets a new record!
