"I impressed myself." Stephen Curry on his three-point shot in the Olympic finals
Yesterday, the final match of the Olympic basketball tournament took place, with the United States facing off against France. The Americans emerged victorious, winning 98-87.
One of the standout performers for Team USA, both in the final and throughout the Games, was Stephen Curry. Yesterday, the American sharpshooter made eight of his twelve three-point attempts. His final shot was particularly memorable, leaving even Curry himself in awe. During the post-match press conference, he expressed his amazement at the shot.
"Every time I shoot, I believe it’s going in. That shot came at the end of a flurry. All I saw was the rim—I didn’t even notice who was in front of me. I knew it was a buzzer-beater situation, but it impressed me. I impressed myself, without a doubt.
The last two and a half minutes were special. The guys were encouraging me, we were confident in what we were doing, and I was just in the moment, enjoying myself."
In the last two games, Stephen Curry hit seventeen of his twenty-six shots from beyond the arc, a stark contrast to his performance in the first four games, where he managed only five of twenty.
